Leone Rossi grew up with a passion for all things hunting and the outdoors. In 2012 he started his own hunting operation, Italian Safaris. Today, Italian Safari is one of the number one hunting and tourism operations in Italy. Traversing the Tuscan hills, clients can hunt red stag, chamois, roe deer, and wild boar all while taking in the unforgettable scenery unique to Italy. Italian Safari provides an experience different from any other allowing clients to both hunt and spend time touring Italy. “You don’t fly to Italy just to hunt for three days, people are interested in the experience, the food, the wine, the history, everything,” said Leone. With Italian Safari, hunters are typically successful during the first few days allowing clients to spend the rest of their time taking in all Italy has to offer; this makes Italian Safari family friendly. Leone goes out of his way to make his clients' experience with Italian Safari extraordinary. While Italian Safari makes hunting in Rome, Florence, Venice, and Turin both possible and convenient, Leone believes the magic of Italy extends beyond the hunting. On a fourteen day stay, Italian Safari offers a dinner in a private palace in Rome, a visit to the Beretta factory, or even a lunch on the private island of Lake Garda.
As you can imagine, the 2020 hunting season for Italian Safari looked very different from previous years. Like many organizations across the world, in early March, the COVID panic brought the adventures at Italian Safari to a halt. “March was quite tough,” said Leone in his understated fashion. While Leone was no longer busy hunting with clients, he spent his time refunding and rebooking scheduled hunts. Leone then focused his energy into his land. “By not having any hunters, we were able to really manage the land looking towards next year,” said Leone. Today, hunting in Italy has reopened. Italian Safari has been hunting mostly with European clients as a ten day quarantine period continues to be enforced for those wishing to enter Italy from overseas. Clients that were booked to hunt with Italian Safari during 2020 have been rescheduled starting in April 2021. “It seems very probable that it will be a safe time to start traveling again internationally,” said Leone.
Although hunts for red stag are fully booked for 2021, Italian Safari has availabilities for all other species for clients wanting this amazing experience. Italy is a place that offers hunting, history, art, music, fine foods, and so much more. Italian Safari combines all Italy offers to create one unforgettable experience.
