Mark Meyer Sr. and his wife Laurie host these gator hunts from one of Louisiana’s grandest remaining historic mansions. The mansion is called the Albania Mansion and is a 12,500 square foot, 9 bedrooms all with ensuite baths. Albania Mansion isn't far from Lafayette is their “camp”. The building was built between 1837 and 1842 along the famous Bayou Teche and the Old Spanish Trail. If you’re obsessed with “roughing it” this isn’t the place for you.

The hunts themselves are fun and well thought out, they have over 25,000 acres to hunt. They average around seven feet and can go well over 12 feet. You’ll 100% get an opportunity for a gator but the regulations dictate that you take the one on the bait. So there’s no passing for a bigger one. But, that doesn’t really matter because your trophy is a beautiful pair of boots.

Mark and Laurie own & operate both Meyer Custom Bootmakers & Alligator Solution. Your hunt includes gator boots, belt and a wallet made from your gator. Mark has been making boots since he was 15 years old & is a master bootmaker so he'll have all the tools on site to get you measured while you’re there. Mark’s been hand crafting custom boots for over 40 years. He’s been guiding gator hunts for 20 plus years. He knows what he’s doing.
