Clay Johnson, of the 5 J Ranch has incorporated those excellent practices into his program. The guest services, hunting opportunities and game management practices of his hunting and guest operation in Central Texas will not let you down. His game management program proves that an out of the box approach can lead to exceptional results. He reminds me a lot of Hunter Ross, in the way he has implemented his unique management programs through the trials of getting it right. The success of this approach is evident in the many great outfitters that I have visited in my lifetime. Clay will tell you a ranch has a mind of its own, in every regard, whether you are a guest or a steward of the land, “…what you put into it is what you get out of it!...” Clay has worked for many years to produce, what I consider to be, a fantastic hunting destination in the heart of Texas. The lodge and facilities are amazing with incredible views. The processing facilities are substantial and spotless. They have created a truly great operation with a very thoughtful approach to hunting and entertaining their guests. TROPHY WHITETAIL DEER HUNTS

Trophy whitetail hunts include: one trophy whitetail up to 170 inches field measured. Lodging three nights included. Arrive on day one, hunt that afternoon, hunt morning and afternoon day two and three, hunt the morning of departure day checkout by noon. Food, snacks, beverages are included. All guide service, trophy cleaning, trophy storage and local transportation included. Items not included: cost of upgrades to your experience, taxidermy fees, or wounded animals. Other species available upon request seasonal. All participants will sign a ranch waiver and release.

MANAGEMENT WHITETAIL DEER HUNTS

Management whitetail hunts include: one management whitetail up to 130 inches field measured. Lodging includes two nights. Arrive on day one, hunt that afternoon, hunt morning and afternoon day two, hunt the morning of departure day checkout by noon. Food, snacks, beverages are included. All guide service, trophy cleaning, trophy storage and local transportation included. Items not included: cost of upgrades to your experience, taxidermy fees or wounded animals. Other species available upon request seasonal. All participants will sign a ranch waiver and release.

GENERAL HUNTING FEES

Daily hunting includes: Access to the ranch hunting area for all available hunting, guide service based on contracted pricing, transportation to and from the hunting area and animal storage for the duration of your hunt. Prices quoted are based on the type and style of hunting requested and are subject to change. If the contracted hunt changes the price will change. No trophies are in included in this hunt. Any animal shot whether taken or lost is a kill and trophy fees must be paid. Deposits required to hunt and are refundable based on final billing summary. All participants mus sign a ranch waiver and release.

Come enjoy the beautiful Texas Hill Country at its finest. We are located near San Saba, Texas about an hour and a half northwest of Austin, Texas.

The 5 J Ranch a 2500 acre playground surrounded by Texas savannas and sunsets. The Edward's Plateau and Llano Uplift are unique to central Texas, so come hang your hat for a while and soak it in. When you do visit expect to meet great people, enjoy a slower pace and just relax
